Step1: Preparing rattan fiber material.
This is the first step to make the finished products that also is the important one in producing rattan crafts. The artisans will consider carefully to choose the best quality rattan fibers that meet all the standard. Then they will carry out the first stages like: drying; scraping to create rattan fibers with the various of sizes.
Step2: Straightening the rattan.
When we cut down the rattan cane, it will have certain curvature that obstructs weaving this material. Therefore, we need to use lever or specialized machine to straighten the rattan.
Step3: Steaming and stripping the rattan:
Rattan will be steamed, then become resistant, long – lasting and expanded. That brings advantage in stripping individual fiber.
Step 4: Tying and knitting rattan nets.
After being steamed and meeting the standards, each craftsman will be responsible for hand-knitting according to different positions and designs of rattan.
Step 5: Finishing the rattan net.
After being successfully knitted, the rattan blinds will be sanded, and treated surface to apply a protective paint.
