Vietnam has been one of the world’s leading producers of natural rattan, bamboo, and grasscloth materials for decades. VILATA was founded on 1 July 2020 by Nguyễn Thị Trang to solve exactly that problem. Rattan cane webbing — natural

Our natural rattan cane webbing is woven from hand-selected rattan cane sourced from Vietnam’s rattan-producing regions. The material is processed and dried to ensure dimensional stability and resistance to warping during long-distance shipping. Available in roll widths from 45 cm to 90 cm (custom widths on request), with a standard roll length of 15 m.

Natural rattan webbing is primarily used in furniture manufacturing — particularly for cabinet door inserts, chair and sofa seat panels, bed headboards, room dividers, and decorative wall treatments. The material’s open-weave structure makes it equally suited to statement interior design applications and high-volume furniture production runs.

PE rattan — synthetic / plastic rattan core

VILATA’s PE rattan (polyethylene rattan core) delivers the aesthetic of natural rattan with the durability required for outdoor and commercial applications. It is UV-stabilised, moisture-resistant, and manufactured to resist colour fade and structural degradation even under prolonged sun and rain exposure — making it the preferred choice for garden furniture, outdoor dining sets, poolside furniture, and contract hospitality projects.

Available in widths 45–90 cm, with roll lengths of 15 m (standard) or 30 m (bulk). The longer 30 m roll option is specifically designed for larger manufacturing runs where minimising roll joins is a quality and efficiency priority.

Grasscloth wallcovering

Our grasscloth wallcovering range spans four product variants to suit different project specifications and installation requirements: natural grasscloth (hand-woven, authentic texture), faux grasscloth (consistent pattern, lower variation), vinyl grasscloth (washable, commercial-grade durability), and peel-and-stick grasscloth (adhesive-backed, ideal for temporary or rental applications).

Roll widths: 0.91 m (36 inches) or 1.37 m (54 inches). Roll lengths: 5.5 m (standard single-roll trade pack) or 50 m (bulk wholesale roll for large-scale projects or distributor stocking). The 50 m bulk roll significantly reduces per-metre cost and is the preferred format for interior design firms and wallcovering distributors managing multiple projects.

Supplier selection and qualification

VILATA maintains a curated network of Vietnamese natural material producers who have been vetted for material quality, production consistency, and ethical working standards. New suppliers undergo a qualification process before any commercial orders are placed, and existing partnerships are reviewed annually. We do not list every available supplier — only those whose output consistently meets our quality threshold.

Incoming materials inspection

All materials are received and inspected at our Ho Chi Minh City warehouse before being allocated to client orders. Each inspection covers dimensional accuracy (width, roll length, roll weight), weave consistency, colour uniformity, moisture content, and surface defects. Non-conforming material is quarantined and returned to the supplier at VILATA’s cost.

Pre-shipment quality check and documentation

Every consignment undergoes a final quality check before export packing. A photographic inspection report is prepared and shared with the client prior to shipment. All export documentation — Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Quality, packing lists, and commercial invoices — is prepared in-house and checked for accuracy against the purchase order.

Shipping and logistics coordination

VILATA coordinates shipping via sea freight, air freight, or express courier (DHL / FedEx) depending on order volume, urgency, and destination. We work with a panel of freight forwarders with established routes to major US, EU, and AU ports, enabling competitive shipping rates and reliable transit times for our clients.

Our Certificate of Origin (CO) confirms that all materials originate from Vietnam, which is significant for buyers in markets where Vietnamese-origin goods qualify for preferential tariff treatment — including under the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and various US GSP provisions. The Certificate of Quality (CQ) provides independent verification of material standard at point of export, reducing the risk of import-side quality disputes.

FSC chain-of-custody certification is currently in progress. FSC certification will allow VILATA to supply materials that meet the chain-of-custody requirements of buyers working to sustainable sourcing policies or operating in markets (particularly in Northern Europe) where FSC-certified natural materials are increasingly specified. We anticipate FSC certification completion in the near term and will update this page upon confirmation.

All natural material shipments are accompanied by the full set of commercial export documents: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading (or airway bill), CO, and CQ. These are prepared in-house and dispatched to clients in advance of shipment arrival.

Trang founded VILATA in 2020 following several years working in natural materials procurement and export logistics across Southeast Asia.
